Mr Chris Hasluck

Chris is currently Principal Research Fellow in the Institute for Employment Research (IER), University of Warwick. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Leeds University, he started his career as a lecturer at Wolverhampton Polytechnic before moving to Leicester Polytechnic where he was Deputy Head of the School of Economic and Accounting. In 1989 he took up the post of Principal Research Fellow at IER.

Chris' main research interests are in the field of the employment of people at disadvantage in the labour market with a particular emphasis on the evaluation of programmes designed to help non-working people return to employment. He has undertaken research for a number of sponsors including the Department for Work and Pensions, jobcentre Plus and the European Commission. He has published a range of reports and articles including a number of evaluations of New Deal programmes and two recent evidence reviews relating to "The factors associated with social exclusion amongst working age adults in the UK" and on "Workless households and the partners of benefit claimants". Chris is currently working on projects relating to the promotion of medical technologies in economic regeneration and the costs and benefits to employers of the employment of people with disabilities.
