Bupa Foundation themed conferences
The Bupa Foundation's themed conferences have developed as a natural way of presenting the results of the research funded by the Foundation's themed grants. Ensuring dissemination of project results is an important part of the work of the Bupa Foundation, and this is a very effective means of facilitating this.
2006 conference
In 2006 the Bupa Foundation held the symposium "Consumer involvement and the informed patient", on 19 October 2006 at the Institute of Mechanical Enginering, One Birdcage Walk, Westminster.

2004 conference
In 2004 the Bupa Foundation, in conjunction with the The British Cardiac Society,
National Patient Safety Agency and the Royal College of Physicians, supported the conference "Making health care safer", presented by the BMJ on 21-22 October 2004 at the Royal College of Physicians, London, UK.

2002 conference
In 2002 the Bupa Foundation held the first themed conference at the Royal Institution in London to present the results of work from 1998-2001 on evidence-based medicine. Two research programmes formed the basis of the day's presentations. These were headed by:
